The construction of Rumeli Castle was completed within a short period of 4 months between April and August of 1452.

ANATOLIAN CASTLE

Anatolian Castle was built by Yıldırım Beyazıt in the 14th century. It was a small fishing village but now attracts attention with its colorful historical houses. The purpose of the construction of Anatolian Castle was that Yıldırım Beyazıt was planning to conquer İstanbul with the help of it.

h

However, the Ottomans were defeated in the War of Ankara and Yıldırım Beyazıt was taken as a prisoner and the conquest of Istanbul would not be possible for that period. Built-in 1385 by Yıldırım Beyazıt, the grandfather of Fatih Sultan Mehmet, the main structure of Anatolian Castle is a rectangular tower. When Sultan Mehmet made Rumeli castle, he also took care of the place.

ı

During the conquest of Istanbul, Rumeli Castle and Anatolian Castle provided the control of the Bosphorus. The Byzantine Empire was forcibly destroyed when aid from Byzantium was cut off thanks to these Castles. Moreover, the area of Anatolian Castle is smaller than Rumeli Castle.

j

After visiting the Anatolian Castle, you can take a boat ride on the Göksu River or spend time in cafes and restaurants on the edge of Göksu.
